Why Do I Need the Smith MiM?

UMD Smith’s Master’s in Management Studies (MiM) program allows you to explore the inner workings of an organization and refine your critical thinking skills on a variety of management-related topics - key qualities that position you to become a high-performing entrepreneur and a marketable business professional in any field. We'll also introduce you to widely-used business technology and demonstrate how it can be applied to the work you'll do in your chosen industry.

Bring Your Business Ideas to Life

Acquire the management, operations and negotiation knowledge to successfully get your creative ideas off the ground.

Explore a Broad Set of Business Topics

Through your core courses and electives, you'll acquire skills in various business topics, such as strategic management and marketing. You can explore career options in fields such as art, sports and health management.

Take an Experiential Learning Course

Partner with the master's in management studies advisory council and participate in a hands-on consulting project. Put your management skills to the test with projects from companies like Google, Major League Baseball and Lockheed Martin.
