Information Technologies have not only increased the efficiency and effectiveness of business operations and communications, they are also a critical driver of innovation in generating new business models. Every type of enterprise today – from financial services to manufacturing to retailing to healthcare is being transformed through the capabilities of information technology.

Curriculum: One-Year Program

  • BMGT301 (Introduction to Information Systems) — Fall, if not taken before entrance to iTBT
  • BMGT302F (dedicated fellows section of Essential Programming Skills for Business Analytics) — Fall
  • BMGT402F (dedicated fellows section of Database Management Systems) — Spring

Co-Curricular Activities

iTBT Fellows are offered several co-curricular activities throughout the semester with a dual focus on technology and organizational change. They are also encouraged to participate in the International CoMIS case competition. They are required to participate in at least two co-curricular events each semester, including:

  • IS Careers Night
  • TechFest
  • CIO Forum Networking Event
  • Speaker Series on Information Systems Technology & Innovation

Eligibility Requirements

  • Open to all business majors.
  • You may apply if you are in the process of applying to Smith as an internal transfer; however, your admission is contingent upon your admission to the Smith School, College Park.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Completion of BMGT301 by the start of the program (preferred, but may take BMGT301 and BMGT302F concurrently in the fall semester).
