Freshman Admit To Do’s

• Learn more about the Smith Undergraduate Experience at a Smith Admitted information session.
• Sign up for one of UMD’s Admitted Student Open House sessions during the spring (and join Smith for an in-person meet and greet before each event!)
• Learn about the Smith Start Program and this year’s freshmen guides (each Smith freshman receives a Smith Start Guide!).
• Make sure to confirm your intention to attend and place your deposit by May 1, 2026.
• Sign up for a summer freshmen orientation session (you’ll get this information once you place your deposit)!

Tips for Future Smith Terps

• Discover all eight Smith majors online or during our major exploration information session. Don’t worry, you don’t have to declare until you reach 60 credits, but it’s useful to start thinking about your academic and career interests early.
• Learn how you can get involved with student organizations at Smith.
• Start building your business wardrobe! A suit is a necessity. Choose a matching suit in neutral colors (black, navy, gray).
