The University of Maryland, University of Washington, and Florida International University present the first annual Ace the Case Global Business Challenge. This challenge is supported in part by a Title VI grant program known as CIBE (Centers for International Business Education) from the U.S. Department of Education.

This Ace the Case Global Business Challenge is open to all MBA and business graduate students interested in testing their skills and knowledge in global business strategies.

Participants can expect to:

  • Work in teams and provide actionable recommendations
  • Sharpen skills in navigating the case interview process and in making virtual presentations
  • Network with international students and corporate executives
  • Join a virtual student mixer and optional virtual cultural activity
  • Participate in a case interview process with an international company
  • Compete virtually against business students from across the globe
  • Engage in both synchronous and asynchronous sessions for this two-part competition

These new and innovative virtual case competitions allow Maryland Smith undergraduate majors and minors to solve a real global business issue with a focus on business resilience. During these 4-5 day IB agility labs, students will benefit from exposure to an international company, work on teams with business students around the world, and gain hands-on case experience to build their resumes. Each IB agility lab will focus on one functional area of business and will include an optional virtual cultural activity.

These new and innovative virtual case competitions allow Maryland Smith undergraduate majors and minors to solve a real global business issue with a focus on business resilience. During these 4-5 day IB agility labs, students will benefit from exposure to an international company, work on teams with business students around the world, and gain hands-on case experience to build their resumes. Each IB agility lab will focus on one functional area of business and will include an optional virtual cultural activity.

The Center for Global Business’ Annual Forum is an event occurring every spring that brings together distinguished voices from the academic, policy, diplomatic, and business communities to speak on a different theme each year.

This year, save the date for the 3rd Annual Forum on Tuesday, April 13. Kislaya Prasad, academic director of the Center for Global Business, will lead a discussion with Mauro Guillén, author of "2030: How Today's Biggest Trends Will Collide and Reshape the Future of Everything," and Zandman Professor of International Management at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
