Banking Fellows
Banking Fellows is designed to improve education and employment opportunities for undergraduates interested in careers in commercial banking and other depository institutions.
Students in Banking Fellows will take BMGT445F. This course rigorously covers how to manage financial institutions, with an emphasis on risk management. Interactions with banking professionals and case studies will provide opportunities to apply theory.
Students will have the following opportunities:
- Be matched with community banks to meet with executive management.
- Compete in a bank case competition based on their bank partners.
- Listen to banking industry guest speakers, including both bankers and bank regulators.
- Apply for internships with banks as well as bank regulators.
- See the inner workings of banking regulation and crafting of bank regulation laws through visits to Baltimore and Annapolis.

Curriculum
- BMGT445F: Banking & Financial Institutions Fellows (Spring semester only)
- Case competition opportunity with work starting in February and deliverables due in May
- Compete for an internship in the commercial banking industry or with regulators.

Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a declared Finance major.
- Second-year (sophomore) or third-year (junior) student.
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA; 3.5 cumulative GPA preferred.
- Completion of BMGT340 before enrolling in BMGT445F.
- Completion of BMGT341 or ECON330 before enrolling in BMGT445F (preferred, but may take BMGT341 or ECON330 concurrently with BMGT445F).
