The University of Maryland was named the top college in the nation for LGBTQ+ students by Campus Pride and BestColleges.

It leads the list of 2023’s Top 25 LGBTQ+-Friendly Colleges, recognizing educational institutions that foster inclusive and supportive environments for LGBTQ+ students. Maryland was No. 1 in 2020 and appeared among the top 25 in 2021 and 2022.

The University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business has established the Ritu Agarwal Distinguished PhD Fellowship in Information Systems.

New graduates of the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business heard keynote testimonials on overcoming adversity and the life-changing benefits of a Smith degree during commencement exercises on May 24 at the XFINITY Center in College Park. The ceremony recognized 1,191 undergraduate students, 1,065 business master’s and MBA students, 10 PhD students and 32 EMBA students.

The Maryland Smith Blockchain Accelerator is pleased to announce that it has accepted eight ventures into its Spring 2023 cohort.

Jan Oskar Bolin recently traveled from Norway to College Park to audit a PhD Seminar on Marketing Strategy under Maryland Smith’s Roland Rust. “A key takeaway,” he says, “is under the right conditions artificial intelligence (AI)could prompt a seismic shift that reverberates throughout the entire economy. But good decisions will have to be made.”

Welcome to the 2021-2022 academic year. This year, those words are particularly heartfelt. To our freshman and sophomore classes, to our master’s students and to anyone else who is coming to campus for the first time, welcome. The Center for Global Business announces that Roxanne Jaffe, a doctoral candidate in the department of management and organization, has received the 2021 PhD International Research Award. The award is funded by CIBE, a Title VI grant administered by the U.S.
