Gone are the days of handshakes and high-fives, social gatherings, parties and live events and countless other things that we took for granted. In times of social distancing, MBA students have had to adapt to new ways to keep in touch with each other. Students have taken advantage of the phone and internet to find creative ways to maintain a sense of community.

Alumni Span Globe To Raise Money for Masks

It began as an individual effort to donate masks to a few classmates and professors in China. From there, the idea began to grow.

Maryland Smith alum Luhan Tang, MBA ’19, expanded the initiative into the UMD4Masks Campaign, wanting to help address the shortage of face masks faced by frontline medical workers as they worked to treat patients and contain the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
