At the Ed Snider Center we seek to foster discussions on big topic issues that illuminate the roles of individuals, business, and social institutions in enterprise and markets. Events like our debates and colloquiums bring together a large audience of students, academics, and business leaders in College Park to hear rich discussions on diverse topics such as: ethics and leadership, freedom of expression, capitalism versus socialism, and nationalism versus globalism.

Maryland Smith is home to a number of centers of excellence, which help our students and alumni dive deeper into complex ideas in the marketplace, through research, innovation and entrepreneurship. Centergize is the opportunity for you to learn more about these centers, their impact, and how you can be involved with them. The event is set up for you to hear brief remarks from all the participating centers followed by breakout rooms, where you can learn even more about three of the centers of your choosing.

Applying Business Acumen To Help Student Groups Thrive

How does a student club establish and maintain successful and efficient operational processes? It helps to have some good advice. That’s the idea behind the creation of the Snider Consulting Group. Maryland Smith junior Joseph Houghton said he was motivated to launch SCG, after realizing a need for greater support among student groups.
