Plus 1 Admissions

Getting a Plus 1 consultation prior to applying helps you determine if and how you can make the Plus 1 program work with your future class schedule. Your advisor is another great resource to help you determine whether the business master’s program you are considering is a good fit for your current skills and career goals. Please note that a consultation is required before submitting an application.

Program-Specific Requirements for Plus 1 Applicants

After you’ve met with an advisor to plan your Plus 1 study, you are ready to apply for the Plus 1 program. Submit an application to the Plus 1 program Be prepared to upload the following documents before submitting your application:

Undergraduate Transcript
You can request your undergraduate transcript online from the Office of the Registrar. For your Plus 1 application, unofficial transcripts are accepted.

Personal Statement of Interest
List your educational and career aspirations, and how you plan to use your business master’s degree toward achieving your educational and career goals. Your statement should be approximately one page, double-spaced.

Once admitted into the Plus 1 program, you can take up to 10 graduate-level business credits as an undergraduate student. For as long as you are still pursuing your bachelor’s degree, you will be charged the undergraduate tuition rate for your graduate courses.

Formally apply to your business master’s degree program during your final year of undergraduate study. Please note that getting accepted into the Plus 1 program does not guarantee acceptance into the business master’s program.

Plus 1 students completing their bachelor's and applying to their graduate program for full-time study will receive information in January (spring bachelor's graduates) or September (fall bachelor's graduates).

Complete your program as a full-time graduate student at UMD College Park. Most Plus 1 students earn their master’s degree in one year or less. Our Business Analytics program may take up to three semesters to complete.
