The MBA program at the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland ranked No. 20 among all U.S. MBA programs in the Financial Times MBA 2005 rankings, published January 24th. The influential rankings place Smiths MBA program No. 6 among all U.S. public business schools and No. 30 in the world.

The Robert H. Smith School of Business kicks off an exciting new year in 2005, with the start of its fourth Executive MBA class in College Park, new Executive MBA programs in China and a host of campus activities planned for the spring semester.
More than 300 students graduated from the Robert H. Smith School of Business on December 19, 2004.
Smith professors Anand Anandalingam, Ritu Agarwal, Anil Gupta, and Joseph Bailey helped welcome leading information technology researchers from around the world to the 25th anniversary session of the prestigious International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) in Washington, D.C., December 12-15, 2004 at The Grand Hyatt Washington.

Showcasing their business savvy for more than a dozen high-powered companies, 74 freshman College Park Scholars (CPS) students studied and made strategic recommendations for real-world companies. Each team illustrated its recommended strategy on a display board, which was evaluated by a team of judges, including a representative from the company.
Roland T. Rust, chair of the marketing department at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, was recently named editor of the prestigious Journal of Marketing. This journal has been ranked number one in two of the last three surveys of major marketing journals.
