A team of MBA students from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business developed and presented a health care management solution to capture the fourth annual Cognizant Business Consulting Case Competition. The Smith MBA Consulting Club hosted the competition’s final round in Van Munching Hall on October 16-17, 2015.

Smith Recaptures Marketing Summit
For the third time in seven years, the Smith School reigns as champion of the Wake Forest Marketing Analytics case competition in the undergraduate division. Marketing students Michael Barnett, Ashley Jager, Bridget McManus and Jack Rupple represented Smith, which also won the competition in 2013 and 2009.

Smith School of Business, you’d be hard-pressed to find an organization in Smith that doesn’t match up to at least one of your professional goals or passions. There seems to be endless options, and infinite routes one can take to get involved. But one organization in particular occupies a very interesting niche; a niche that is very broad, but in another sense, selective and exclusive.
Smith Students Get Briefed on Ageing
On Oct. 6, 2015, undergraduates and alumni of the global fellows program at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business, along with other Terps and local students, joined for a movie screening of ALIVE INSIDE and a discussion on ageing and managing four generations in the workplace. The event was presented in partnership with Helping Our Communities Honor Ageing (HOCHA) and the Alive Inside Foundation.
Smith Undergrads Attend IANA Logistics Expo in Florida
Twenty-four supply chain students from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business traveled to the Intermodal Association of North America (IANA) EXPO on Sept. 20-22, 2015, in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. The students are in the school’s Supply Chain Management Fellows program, which is fully funded by IANA, and the trip was part of the “Seminar in Supply Chain Management: An Executive Perspective” (BMGT 471) course.

Ed Snider Celebrates Enterprise at BB&T Event
Philadelphia Flyers founder and Comcast-Spectacor chairman Ed Snider ’55 performed double duty on Sept. 29, 2015, at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. First he helped celebrate the opening of new offices for the Ed Snider Center for Enterprise and Markets. Then he shared the foundational values for his business at the BB&T Colloquium on Capitalism, Ethics, and Leadership.
Finance Fellows Annual Networking Night
On Monday, September 21, 2015, approximately 120 undergraduate students from seven finance fellows programs at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business attended the Finance Fellows Annual Networking Night at the Riggs Alumni Center. Students interacted with 27 professionals from the field of finance who came to share their career experience and expertise to help students explore possible career paths within finance.
