Google Yourself: Rebranding lessons

Google recently unveiled an update to its familiar colorful logo, part of the rebranding of the internet behemoth that does so much more than search these days. The logo refresh is a reminder that even the most successful can use an update from time to time.

In this edition of Smith Business Close-Up, host Jeff Salkin visits the Smith School to sit down with professor Rajshree Agarwal, the Rudolph P. Lamone Chair and director of the Ed Snider Center for Enterprise and Markets at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. Agarwal explains how anyone can take a page from Google and update their personal brand.

Agarwal teaches an executive education workshop on creating your own strategic direction. Rather than just having her students go through mental exercises, she challenges them to take out a piece of paper and start writing – part of a process of discovery.
