TerpTax Students Serve Community, Build Expertise

For a second year in a row, TerpTax “made a big impact” on the campus and local community, say its organizers. The program’s 70-plus student volunteers from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business prepared tax returns yielding about $200,000 in federal refunds collectively for more than 300 UMD students, staff members and off-campus community members.

The Opportunities and Challenges of Doing Business with India

Participants at the Robert H. Smith School of Business's 2016 Emerging Markets Forum agreed that India's rapid growth offered opportunities for both local and U.S. businesses, but they disagreed about whether the Indian government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is moving quickly enough to cut red tape.

Smith’s Business Academy Visits Alumni in NYC

Undergraduate students in the Smith Business Academy at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business traveled to New York City last weekend (April 29, 2016) with Associate Dean Victor Mullins. “The members of the Smith Business Academy have been working diligently for the entire year in efforts to develop professionally, socially and academically," said Mullins.
