Maryland Students Make Impact through Global Consulting Programs

From China to Rwanda and numerous places in between, students at the University of Maryland apply their classroom learning in real-world settings to provide valuable feedback to companies seeking to develop their global reach. Through experiential learning programs such as consulting projects offered by the Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) at the University of Maryland, undergraduate and graduate students from across the university and throughout the state came together in spring 2017 to consult for local and international businesses.

Smith Undergrads Present Research in Rome

Smith Staff Volunteer at A Wider Circle

Claudia Donnelly, a program manager in the undergraduate program at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business, writes about volunteering at A Wider Circle in nearby Silver Spring, Md. On May 24, 2017, just a couple of days after congratulating hundreds of seniors at the Robert H. Smith School of Business commencement ceremony, advisors and staff from the Office of Undergraduate Program turned their attention to helping others in the nearby community and spent several hours at a non-profit organization called A Wider Circle in Silver Spring, Md.

There was the usual pomp and circumstance, and quite a lot of excitement, as 1,200 students graduated from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business on Monday at the Xfinity Center on the university’s College Park campus, May 22, 2017. Undergraduate Ceremony At the undergraduate ceremony, graduating senior Cecelia Cizek sang the National Anthem and Kelly Cosgriff delivered the student address.
