Smith Giving Day Support Surpasses Last Year

The University of Maryland’s (UMD) annual 24-hour fundraising event, Giving Day, invites alumni, staff, faculty, students, parents and friends of the university to raise critical funding to advance the mission of the UMD. For the Robert H. Smith School of Business, the community contributed over $300,000, a 138% increase over the previous year. A 55% increase in donors and participation from five times as many students as in 2025 contributed to the increase.

Now, more than ever, students need meaningful connections with alums who have been where they are and can help them navigate what comes next. While the world of work continues to change, the connection to Maryland stays the same.
