Your Smith. My Smith. Our Smith.

Smith Day is a day that celebrates YOU – Smith students, alumni, staff, and faculty! We value the unique experiences of Smith students, faculty, staff and alumni. Whether you studied or worked at one of our five regional campuses or online, we invite you to celebrate Smith Day with us and with fellow Smith Terps on Wednesday, November 2.

This annual celebration is a time to build upon your existing relationships with Smith Terps, create new relationships, as well as a time to reconnect with the Smith community. Follow #MarylandSmithDay on social media for updates and additional insights.

How to Celebrate

1. Check out the Smith Day schedule

Join the celebration! With a hybrid format, there are even more ways for you to participate. Review the Smith Day Schedule for a full list of events and activities happening throughout the day.

2. Wear your Smith/Maryland Gear

Put on your best red, black, gold and/or white outfits and celebrate in style! Need some new Maryland gear? Visit the campus bookstore.

3. Update your social media presence

Show your Smith spirit by downloading the social media frames and adding them to your Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter profiles.

4. Share your Smith Pride

Tell the Smith Community what makes you proud to be a Smith Terp by using #MarylandSmithDay on social media. You can also sign up to share your Smith Pride in a Smith Day Spotlight.

5. Attend a Smith Day Event

Join fellow Smith Terps for one of the regional, corporate, or virtual events scheduled for Smith Day. From Boston to Houston and for alumni working at the same company, check the list of events to see if there is one near you. Register Today! (Don’t see one near you, set up a Meet-Up in your local area.)

6. Write a “Thank you” Note or Post a “Shout-out”

Stop by the Smith Day tent to write a thank you note or submit a well-deserved thank you note or shoutout to a favorite professor or staff member, a fellow alumnus/a, or a classmate. If not on campus, send a virtual thank you note.

7. Show your support

Another way to share your pride is by making a gift to one or more of the Smith School initiatives in support of the future of Smith.

Download the Smith Day pennant and sticker, social media frames, virtual backgrounds and other Smith Day swag. Add them to your profile or to your social media tweets and posts along with #MarylandSmithDay to share how you are celebrating Smith Day.

Smith Day Activities

Share your Smith Terp pride, learn from the experiences of other Smith Terps, solve a mystery, and connect with other Smith Terps during one of these Smith Day activities.

CAMPUS CELEBRATION

Stop by the Pownall Atrium (in Van Munching Hall) between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to celebrate the Sixth Annual Smith Day. Take a photo, grab your Smith Day giveaways, enjoy the activities, and try the special Smith Day ice cream flavor, created by the Maryland Dairy.

SMITH SCHOOL REGIONAL CAMPUS ACTIVITY

Not in College Park? Celebrate Smith Day at one of the Smith School’s regional campuses. Join the students, faculty, and staff at the BioPark campus for giveaways and other activities.

WHAT IS TESTUDO DOING TODAY?

Ever wonder what it would look like if Testudo could join you in your personal celebration of Smith Day? We do too, so here’s your chance!

RUB TESTUDO’S VIRTUAL NOSE

Although we’re not on campus, you can still take part in this campus tradition. Before your big presentation or meeting, your online exam, or just for fun, stop by this virtual space to rub Testudo’s virtual nose.
