Undergraduate Faculty Awards
Nominate a Faculty Member for a Smith School Teaching Award
Each May, the Smith School recognizes outstanding faculty members for their efforts in the classroom. Two awards are given to top faculty across the school: the Allen J. Krowe Award for Teaching Excellence and the Legg Mason Teaching Innovation Award.
Faculty are selected from nominations submitted by individuals like you — students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of Smith.
In addition to these schoolwide awards, each program within the school — undergraduate and graduate — has its own awards. Smith School faculty members who taught an undergraduate class are eligible to receive any of the awards described below.
Thank you for nominating a faculty member who taught an undergraduate course for one of these awards.
Allen J. Krowe Award for Teaching Excellence
The Allen J. Krowe Award for Teaching Excellence recognizes outstanding teaching by our faculty. Great teachers consistently go above and beyond to inspire students and instill learning skills that prepare students for a lifetime of learning. Their teaching leaves an impression and has an impact long after the course is completed. These instructors use a variety of methods to keep their courses current and relevant, and have consistently high teaching evaluations. The recipients are chosen based on nominations and teaching evaluations.
