The University of Maryland was named the top college in the nation for LGBTQ+ students by Campus Pride and BestColleges.It leads the list of 2023’s Top 25 LGBTQ+-Friendly Colleges, recognizing educational institutions that foster inclusive and supportive environments for LGBTQ+ students. Maryland was No. 1 in 2020 and appeared among the top 25 in 2021 and 2022.

There’s a reason corporate and non-profit organizations turn to student teams at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business—they know how to translate classroom knowledge to real-world impact. This semester, nine interdisciplinary teams of four to five students from Maryland Smith’s Master of Science in Management Studies (MiM) program collaborated with real-world clients through the Experiential Learning course.

New graduates of the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business heard keynote testimonials on overcoming adversity and the life-changing benefits of a Smith degree during commencement exercises on May 24 at the XFINITY Center in College Park. The ceremony recognized 1,191 undergraduate students, 1,065 business master’s and MBA students, 10 PhD students and 32 EMBA students.

I would have been too nervous about doing that if I’d chosen to work right after getting my bachelor’s degree.

I chose Maryland Smith’s Master of Science in Business and Management (MSBMGT) program because I knew it would provide me with a wide range of skills and experiences that would be directly applicable to the business environment I wanted to enter post-graduation. The program provides you with real-world experiences and working knowledge of all aspects of business ranging from accounting to ethics.

I chose Smith’s MSBMGT program to maximize my academic and athletic careers as I searched for a consulting role. More importantly, I sought a program that would expose me to the necessary skills and knowledge needed to be successful as an entry-level consultant. Not only did my Maryland Smith experience help me obtain an entry-level position at Protiviti, but it also made me confident in my ability to perform at the highest level.
