A new study on prolific authors in accounting literature cites Lawrence A. Gordon, Smith's Ernst & Young Alumni Professor of Managerial Accounting and Information Assurance and director of the Ph.D. Program, as the world's 35th most prolific author in the field of accounting, placing him among the top one percent.

Lemma Senbet, Holder of the William E. Mayer Chair in Finance at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, is among more than 30 members of the influential Financial Economists Roundtable (FER) signing on to a position paper addressing executive compensation issues. The statement, released November 24, calls for the repeal of a federal tax law that limits business tax breaks for compensation over $1 million.

The Smith School has opened a new behavioral research laboratory that combines state-of-the-art technology with traditional resources to conduct advanced behavioral research in business. The Netcentric Behavioral Laboratory enables Smith School faculty and doctoral students to conduct research in a dedicated workspace, which features 18 networked computer workstations; leading behavioral research software applications; and video and audio taping capabilities. Four team rooms, also outfitted with computer workstations and software, complement the main lab space.
