Supply Chain Fellows, Thai Students Visit Port of Baltimore
Visiting Thai students and students in the Supply Chain Fellows program at the Robert H. Smith School of Business took a trip to Baltimore to learn about the city’s shipping port and compare it to other ports in the country and the world. The group took a bus tour of the Port of Baltimore on Oct. 22, 2010, getting a first-hand look at how a busy East Coast port works.
CLIC Launch Event Hosted by Former BB&T CEO John Allison
On October 13, 2010, theCenter for Leadership, Innovation and Change (CLIC) at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business hosted its College Park launch event with an in-depth presentation by Former Chairman and CEO of BB&T John Allison. The presentation centered around the core values of Allison’s leadership model, “Principled Leadership,” which has been successfully implemented at BB&T and is highly regarded all over the world.
Notre Dame Takes Top Prize in Fourth Annual University of Maryland M&A Competition
College Park, Md. – November 1, 2010 – The University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business today announced the winners of its fourth annual Mergers & Acquisitions Competition, held October 28-29. The event, organized by Smith’s MBA Finance Association, challenged 10 teams of MBA students from leading business schools to craft and present M&A pitches to a panel of executive and faculty judges. The student team from the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business won the $5,000 first prize.
