More than 250 people packed Van Munching Hall’s Frank Auditorium to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Smith School’s undergraduate Quality Enhancement Systems and Teams (QUEST) Honors Fellows Program and take part in the program’s annual Brumberger Innovation and Consulting Conference, held the evening of Dec. 4, 2008. Named for 2007 alumnus Matthew Brumberger whose financial support sustains conference, the event showcases student consulting projects for corporate and nonprofit clients, faculty, parents and peers.

The Robert H. Smith School of Business undergraduate information technology (IT) program was listed among the U.S. Top 10 in a special report released by the business technology news network TechRepublic on Nov. 3, 2008. The school was cited as among the nation’s best for students seeking leadership and managerial roles in the IT field, as well as for recruiters seeking the best talent. As Pat Cleveland, Smith School associate dean for undergraduate studies, tells her students, “The world belongs to those who show up.” The members of the Smith Undergraduate Student Association have, in fact, shown up twice. The evening of May 8, on behalf of the organization, SUSA president Marla Weintraub happily accepted the award for “Best Governing Body on Campus,” which the group won once before in 2006.
