Women Forum Honors Rita Cheng ’93, CEO of Blue Ocean Global Wealth

Smith School of Business for the Sixth Annual Women Leading Women forum honoring financial planner and industry leader Marguerita (Rita) Cheng ’93, founder and CEO of Blue Ocean Global Wealth. Smith Finance Students Visit CFA Institute

On March 31, 2017, a score of finance students from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business travelled with David Kass, clinical professor of finance, to Charlottesville, Va., to visit the CFA Institute. The students received a brief overview of the global association, whose mission is to set “the highest standards of ethics, education and professional excellence in the industry.” The CFA has close to 150,000 members around the world.

Smith Students Provide Global Consulting for Local Business

On Friday, March 10, 2017, five undergraduate students traveled to Konsyl in Easton, Md., as part of the Maryland Global Consulting Program. The program is a partnership between the Maryland Department of Commerce, Office of Investment and International Trade and the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business to provide Maryland companies with the opportunity to consult with Smith graduates or undergraduates on real-world international business challenges.
