Smith Vets Club

Smith Vets is established for the expressed purpose of facilitating contact between current MBA students and potential employers, maintaining an outreach program for prospective veteran applicants, and perpetuating a network of veteran students able to assist each other throughout the MBA program. We are committed to coordinating value-added events that build close camaraderie amongst our distinguished members and the Smith MBA cohort.

Brandon Owens

President

Brandon spent eight years in the Marines as a Logistics Officer and truly enjoyed his time living abroad experiencing and working with different cultures. He found that the best way to explore a new country is on two wheels, which is why he has plenty of stories from his time spent motorcycling across Japan. Brandon is pursuing an MBA at Smith with the intention to pivot into the dynamic and developing world of technology and cybersecurity as he believes we are in the golden age for innovation and product development as the industry becomes more integrated and essential in our daily lives. Brandon believes in being a servant leader and values diverse perspectives, collaboration, and new ideas. “I’m excited to serve as the Smith Veterans MBA Club President and look forward to engaging with fellow students, faculty and our wonderful community”!

Scott McGillivray

Executive Vice President of Finance

Scott previously served as a Financial Management Officer in the U.S. Air Force. He spent the first three years of active-duty in Great Falls, Montana before completing his service at the Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, Maryland. Scott completed his undergraduate degree at the United States Air Force Academy where he also played on the men’s soccer team. Scott enjoy taking long walks in Northeast DC with his wife, Kelsey and dog, Bear.

Fun Fact

My wife and I lived in four different AirBnBs in the year before attending Smith.

Thomas CarrollThomas Carroll

Baltimore Campus Representative

Thomas is from Catonsville, MD, and earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland, College Park. He then served for eight years in the U.S. Army. During his time in the military, Thomas did one deployment to Afghanistan and was stationed in Alabama, North Carolina and South Korea. He and his wife currently reside in Fulton, MD where Thomas works as a full-time real estate agent and investor. Thomas and his wife are expecting a baby girl in May of 2022.

Benjamin MorganBenjamin Morgan

DC Campus Representative

Ben is a U.S. Army veteran currently pursuing an MBA in the DC Flex MBA program. After graduating from Auburn University with a degree in Supply Chain Management, Ben commissioned as an active-duty infantry officer and was stationed in Georgia, Hawaii, Virginia, and most recently, Washington D.C. He currently works at the FBI and is in the process of switching to a new career at Cisco in product management. A self-proclaimed foodie and die-hard Baltimore Ravens fan, Ben is passionate about learning new things, giving back to the veteran community, and anything outdoors!

Felicia MullaneyFelicia Mullaney

Executive MBA Representative

Felicia completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland, which was followed by law school at American University Washington College of Law. After law school, she began a career as a veteran advocate by representing veterans in their disability claims before the Department of Veterans Affairs. Felicia is passionate about social impact work, entrepreneurship, leadership, and life balance. She loves nature, the outdoors, and animals. Her very novice hobbies include horseback riding, bird photography, hiking, running, kayaking, gardening, etc.
