The 2026 MAACBA Conference will be held in College Park, MD, on June 7 to 9, 2026. This year's conference focuses on strategies, technologies, and best practices for enhancing education, fostering diversity, and creating equitable learning environments while addressing the challenges and opportunities presented by a rapidly changing educational landscape.

Keynote Session: Navigating Intelligent Technologies, Risk, and Resilience in the Age of AI and Global Realignment

Mark Urbanczyk is a Principal with Deloitte Consulting. He currently leads the government AI & Data Engineering practice and serves as the lead consulting partner for the Department of Health & Human Services. Over the past 20+ years, Mark has collaborated with various government clients to apply emerging analytics and AI technologies to achieve innovative data driven results. At Deloitte, Mark has played a key role in the launch of the firm’s AI offerings in the government market and several next generation AI incubators, including Deloitte’s Federal Health AI Accelerator. His commitment extends to nurturing the broader government data community as a board member of the Data Foundation. Mark is a proud University of Maryland alum, receiving a B.S. in Decision and Information Sciences from the R.H. Smith School of Business. He has remained active with the Smith School, serving as a founding board member for Smith Analytics Consortium and serving on the Advisory Council for the Master of Business Analytics.

Mark’s address will focus on the evolution of AI in industry and government, how use of AI in industry and government is transforming talent strategies, and how business school education needs to transform to ensure that students are prepared for the evolving nature of AI (e.g., skills, relevant disciplines, partnerships). Dr. Elmaghraby will facilitate the Q&A portion of the session.
