Sung Hyun's research combines empirical methods with machine learning approaches to analyze user interactions on various digital platforms by using large-scale, unstructured data. His work seeks to decode user behaviors from this unstructured data, aiming to offer actionable insights for policymakers and stakeholders in platform businesses. Currently, he is focusing on three main areas of research: (1) Understanding user interactions within gaming platform ecosystems. (2) Investigating the impact of hateful user-generated content (UGC) and exploring ways to enhance methods for labeling such content, and (3) Assessing the value of information in reducing market friction within labor markets.
