This semester, undergraduate students at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business launched the Diversity Empowerment Council (DEC). With a vision to help represent and expand diversity within Smith, the DEC will focus on strengthening unity, student integration and academic excellence.
Women currently fill less than 17 percent of executive roles -- a number the Smith School is looking to change, starting with young women in high school.
