BSE Students Participate in 19th Annual Service Day

Freshmen in the College Park Scholars’ Business Society & the Economy program (BSE) spent their first full day on campus helping those less fortunate. More than 80 BSE students spent the morning hours of Aug. 28 painting, cooking, landscaping, organizing and sorting, and/or serving a meal as part of the 19th Annual College Park Scholars Service Day.

Smith Students Explore European Entrepreneurship

In May, twenty students learned about entrepreneurship in a European context while studying in Munich, Germany and London, England. Over the course of the 3-credit, 2-week program, students visited international corporations, interacted with local entrepreneurs and enjoyed the beautiful sights in both cities.

UMD-Smith Students Finalists in ALPFA Case Competition

Smith School of Business were finalists in the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA) National Case Competition, sponsored by KPMG and held at their national convention in Orlando, Fl., August 2-5, 2014. This is the fourth year in a row that UMD has been a finalist – coming in second place the previous two years.
