Five Executive MBA alumni from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business returned to Van Munching Hall to offer their insights from their entrepreneurial journeys.

The University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business Executive MBA Cohort 23 business leaders convened to kick off the academic journey that will see them transform as leaders and level up their careers. On Tuesday, Jan. 17, the 25 cohort members met at Van Munching Hall to participate in the five-day opening residency event where they engaged in a variety of mastery sessions, professional workshops and networking opportunities.

The Smith School’s MBA programs are now STEM-designated, recognizing the analytical, data-informed nature of the curriculum. The STEM designation acknowledges the value of the degree for those seeking to work in business analytics and technology-driven enterprise.

My professors at Maryland Smith have been my most valuable career resource. I could reach out to them for advice, coaching and feedback. My favorite professor is Dr. Liao Hui, who I could easily talk to about my thoughts and bold ideas.

The EMBA program allowed me to combine my past experiences in the business world with theories and principles in a systematic way, and it provided answers and alternative thinkpaths to various challenges and issues that I have encountered–especially outside the sales and marketing arena.
