Smith Takes First Place at AKPsi Case Competition
From February 7-9, numerous chapters from the nation’s largest professional business fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi, gathered in Philadelphia, Pa., for the organization’s annual Principled Business Leadership Institute. The weekend offers students a chance to develop valuable business skills and network with chapters from all over the country, culminating in a case competition featuring students from the schools in attendance.

Smith Students Take Part in LeaderShape
Last month, the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland participated in its first LeaderShape Institute. This retreat is designed to challenge students to lead with integrity and explore what they want to do, as well as who they want to become as leaders. This institute was one of 90 campus-based sessions in the country and involved 49 undergraduate students, mostly from the Smith School. It took place from Jan. 12 to 17, 2014, at Camp Letts, a YMCA summer camp in Edgewater, Md.
Smith School Hosts 50 Students from Australia
The Office of Global Initiatives at the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business hosted 50 Australian EMBA, MBA, and undergraduate students from RMIT University in Melbourne – one of Australia’s most highly-ranked business schools – from Jan. 4-18, 2014, in College Park. The students, most of whom had never been to the United States, traveled to Maryland to experience business education in an American setting and immerse themselves in U.S. business culture.

Stacks on Smith: Senior Pancake Night
In the spirit of community and celebrating our awesome senior class, faculty and staff of the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business donned aprons and chef hats for the Inaugural Stacks on Smith Senior Pancake Night, Dec. 18, 2013. More than 200 hungry seniors filled Van Munching Hall’s Pownall Atrium, ready for a fun-filled dinner with their classmates. The menu was all-you-can-eat pancakes with an endless array of toppings and other scrumptious breakfast fare.
