Smith, UMD Unveil 2 New Programs for Top Scholars
The University of Maryland and its Robert H. Smith School of Business are launching two new undergraduate programs that will give highest-achieving students a big-picture view of business and industry in the changing workplace. The Interdisciplinary Business Honors Living-Learning Program and the Smith Business Leadership Fellows Program are each designed to enrich the college experience for the highest-achieving undergraduate applicants and further nurture their intellectual curiosity.

When Kibwe "KJ" Hughes, EMBA ’20, signed on as faculty director of Maryland Smith’s Sports and Entertainment Business program, he was taking on a new challenge. These new and innovative virtual case competitions allow Maryland Smith undergraduate majors and minors to solve a real global business issue with a focus on business resilience. During these 4-5 day IB agility labs, students will benefit from exposure to an international company, work on teams with business students around the world, and gain hands-on case experience to build their resumes. Each IB agility lab will focus on one functional area of business and will include an optional virtual cultural activity.
