Serguey Braguinsky Selected as Fulbright Scholar for Japan

Serguey Braguinsky, an associate professor in management and organization at the University of Maryland Robert H. Smith School of Business, was selected as a Fulbright U.S. Scholar for 2023-2024 for Japan on behalf of the U.S. Department of State.

Fulbright Scholar Awards are prestigious and competitive fellowships that provide unique opportunities for scholars to teach and conduct research abroad.

Braguinsky is also a professor with UMD’s Department of Economics and a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. He also holds a cross-appointment professorship at Osaka University’s Institute of Social and Economic Research.

Braguinsky’s research interests are in the fields of industry evolution, entrepreneurship, innovation, growth and development, and also in economics of incentives, institutions, and property rights. He has published in leading economics and management journals.
