The Dingman Center Angels (“DCA”) is a Maryland based angel investment group that provides funding to early-stage companies primarily located in the Mid-Atlantic region. Students are welcome to log on and observe these meetings to learn more about raising capital and angel investing.

Exclusively for both current and alumni members of Terp Startup, Pitch Dingman Finalists and Startup Shell, Founders Forum is an opportunity to continue honing our entrepreneurial skills, to learn from our peers, and to catch up with one another. Each month, we'll deep dive into a new topic related to running your businesses in a roundtable-style, while also making time to socialize and chat.

A weekly time to come together and share in some positive community energies. Sessions are scheduled for 60 minutes but typically start on time and last about 10 to 25 minutes. Please arrive on time. A prompt will be given by the facilitator (e.g. draw something that makes you happy today and share; tell us about a favorite class you have taken as a student; write a poem about queerness; etc.) and you have the opportunity to respond to the prompt if you want to, or just to share in the space together.

Maryland Smith welcomes our incoming class of undergraduates through a Zoom session focused on the Terrapin Strong initiative and introducing students to the iSmith framework. Students should have received information via email; if not, they can contact smithstart@umd.edu.

Global Trade During COVID 19: WTO Response

Join Kislaya Prasad, academic director of the Center for Global Business as he hosts Emmanuelle Ganne of the World Trade Organization to discuss the "Global Trade During COVID 19: WTO Response." Topics to be discussed include how global trade has been impacted by the pandemic, WTO's responses worldwide, tools it has to support the economic recovery, and how countries are thinking about the future of trade, through the lens of an expert from the WTO.
