All faculty, program directors, deans, department chairs, alumni, and students of the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business are invited to nominate deserving Smith School faculty members (i.e., tenured, tenure-track, Tyser Teaching Fellow, lecturer, adjunct, or Ph.D. student) for one of several Krowe Teaching Awards in areas of general excellence.

Smith Welcomes MS Students

About 500 new students participated in orientation from Aug. 19 to 27 for the Robert H. Smith School of Business’ Master of Science in Business program. Activities took place on main campus, as well as the Smith centers at Shady Grove and the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, D.C.   The Dean’s Office welcomed the students with remarks from newly-appointed Dean Alex Triantis, Interim Dean Michael Ball and Vice Dean Joyce Russell.

University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business Ranks Among Nation’s Best

College Park, Md. – September 13, 2012 – The undergraduate business program at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business ranks No. 21 in the nation in the latest edition of U.S. News & World Report’s “America’s Best Colleges,” published yesterday. The Smith School placed 11th among public universities and again ranked highly in a number of business specialty categories.

Welcome & Welcome Back, Fall 2012

 The Smith School welcomes hundreds of new faces this fall -- all ready to start an exciting new school year at the University of Maryland. MBA students and MS students were the first to arrive at Van Munching Hall in mid-August for orientations that included special speakers and team-building activities. For four years now, Ernst & Young has hosted the Freshmen Fellows Orientation at Smith, welcoming bright-eyed, eager students to the top-ranked business school. This year’s orientation took place on Aug.

Smith Welcomes New MS Students

In a week filled with activities, MS students at the Robert H. Smith School of Business were introduced to both life at Smith and in the United States. From Wednesday, Aug. 15, to Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, students came from all over to attend the new MS student orientation before starting their school year in College Park.

Smith No. 23 in Academic Ranking of World Universities

The University of Maryland and the Robert H. Smith School of Business are ranked No. 23 in the world for academic and research performance in business/economics in the 2012 Academic Ranking of World Universities, published by the Center for World Class Universities at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China on August 15.
