The University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business rose two places to rank No. 21 overall and No. 11 among public schools in this year's U.S. News and World Report Undergraduate Business Program Ranking, solidifying its standing as a premier institution for undergraduate education.

Maryland Smith continues to be named among the best top-tier online MBA programs, as ranked by the U.S. News and World Report’s Best Online MBA Programs for 2021, holding the No. 10 spot for the second consecutive year. The 2021 ranking is based on a range of metrics in five measured categories: student engagement, admissions selectivity, peer reputation, faculty credentials and training, and student services and technology.
The University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business is No.19, up from 22nd last year, in the U.S. News and World Report 2021 Undergraduate Best Colleges rankings. Among public institutions, Maryland Smith’s undergraduate program is No. 9.

Maryland Smith has advanced in the top 10 of U.S. News and World Report’s Best Online MBA Programs. The new, No. 8 ranking for 2019 is up from No. 9 last year and places Maryland Smith sixth among public schools. It further “reaffirms the program’s reputation, especially in terms of student engagement” – one of five ranking methodology subcategories where Smith has excelled, says Assistant Dean of Online Programs Judy Frels at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business.

Smith’s online MBA program also was ninth in the same ranking in 2017. Among subcategories, Smith ranks fourth in student engagement. In addition to this area, peer reputation, faculty credentials and training, student services and technology, and admissions selectivity feed the criteria for the ranking.
U.S. News & World Report has ranked the online MBA program at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business among the 10 best in the United States. The annual survey, released on Jan. 10, 2017, evaluated more than 200 programs in five performance categories, and the Smith School debuted at No. 9 as a first-time participant.
