Roughly 160 high school students from all over the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area came to Van Munching Hall for the Future Women in Business Conference on Nov. 17, 2023. The annual event has been bringing future and current female business leaders together at Smith for a day of empowerment for the past decade.

Working on a real-world project and interacting with business professionals can bring out the best in students, and things get even more interesting when a prize is up for grabs.

Senior undergraduates Siri Rao, Alexis Reyes and Gregory Rosario represent the Robert H. Smith School of Business as 2023-2024 Philip Merrill Presidential Scholars. The trio are among 20 University of Maryland students who were recognized with their faculty and K-12 -teacher mentors in a ceremony on Nov. 3. 2023.

Today, she is the CEO and founder of Kander, an award-winning woman- and minority-founded Salesforce global consulting firm based in Washington, D.C.

Having a ‘global’ career doesn’t have to mean moving abroad, and the Careers Crossing Borders event series at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business is helping students recognize how those opportunities might instead be right at their doorstep.

Smith School of Business.Hosted by Smith’s Office of Career Services as a two-day affair, the Smith School’s Undergraduate Career Fair and Graduate Career Expo united students, alumni and industry professionals under one roof where they explored employment opportunities and jump-started careers.

The University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business rose two places to rank No. 21 overall and No. 11 among public schools in this year's U.S. News and World Report Undergraduate Business Program Ranking, solidifying its standing as a premier institution for undergraduate education.
