Smith MBAs Attend National Society of Hispanic MBAs Conference and Career Expo
Eleven Smith students joined over 7,000 attendees at the 18th Annual National Society of Hispanic MBAs (HSHMBA) Conference and Career Expo in Houston, Oct. 4-6, 2007. Students networked with representatives from over 300 organizations, received career search advice and explored internship and full-time job opportunities. There were so many opportunities for students and professionals, said first-year MBA student Jorge Diaz. Im glad I was able to go. I would definitely encourage others to attend.
MBAs from Mid-Atlantic Region Gather at UM for Career Quest 2007
On Sept. 28, 2007 MBA students from around the region gathered at the University of Maryland's Samuel Riggs IV Alumni Center to participate in MBA Career Quest 2007. The Robert H. Smith School of Business was one of eight sponsoring institutions and the host of this years event. Students representing 15 institutions spent the day networking with approximately 60 different employers from across the region and around the country.

This years Career Quest takes place on Friday, Sept. 28, 2007, 10 a.m. 3 p.m. at the Samuel Riggs IV Alumni Center on the University of Maryland's campus.

University of Maryland Business School Gives Recruiters Free Access to International Employment Advice
The Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland today announced a unique collaboration with Reed Smith LLP, one of the largest law firms in the United States and known for a leading immigration practice, that gives employers free access to Reeds immigration lawyers for legal advice and consulting services. Employers will benefit from the innovative new program, which in keeping with the Smith Office of Career Managements dedication to employer-focused customer service, will make it easier to recruit and hire foreign graduates.
Smith Team Makes Final Round of National Black MBA Association Case Competition
The stage was set in Houston, Texas, for a spectacular showdown. The Smith School, Michigan State University, University of Michigan, University of Georgia, Baylor University, and Georgia State University teams were competing for a $15,000 grand prize awarded to the winner of the National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA) Annual Case Competition an event annually sponsored by DaimlerChrysler Corporation since 1992. The competition stretched over two days, and included graduate students from 30 top business schools around the country.
