Join us to share your thoughts and ask questions on how to move your business and your career forward in uncertain times.

P. K. Kannan, Dean's Chair in Marketing Science, will briefly introduce how consumer behavior has changed during the pandemic and what the implications are for marketing strategies in the short term and the longer term.

Learn how marketing/retailing has been affected and what he sees as structural changes. How should firms orient themselves going forward? Which trends are going to dominate, which media will have higher importance and which media's importance will wane? He will cover implications for customer focus, digital marketing and marketing budgets.

Smith alumni are invited to join a virtual open forum facilitated by Victor Mullins, PhD, diversity officer and associate dean of undergraduate programs at Maryland Smith. Our strong and connected Smith alumni community will have the opportunity to come together and join in an open dialogue on racism, educate each other and share a call to action.

Maryland Smith professor Rebecca Ratner will draw from her own research to answer the question: Are there upsides to time alone? Ratner has been studying how people make decisions about which activities to do alone vs. with others, how much they enjoy activities that they do alone vs. with others, and how they think about other people who do activities alone.

Join Smith alumni for a wine down Wednesday! Maryland Smith alumnus Eric Platt ’85, president and managing partner of Artisans and Vines, will lead alumni through the journey of wine from discovering to decanting. Platt has a substantial 25+ year history in the fine wine industry including stints in retail, wholesale and importing.
