Using a new platform called Gatherly, alumni are invited to experience a networking event from their desk. Gatherly allows alumni to connect in one on one interactions or in larger group conversations using video chat software.

Andy Shallal, CEO and founder of Busboys and Poets joins Maryland Smith Associate Dean Victor Mullins in a conversation about pivoting your business strategy in the midst of a global pandemic, economic distress and racial protests. Join us to share your thoughts and ask questions on how to move your business and your career forward in uncertain times.

P. K. Kannan, Dean's Chair in Marketing Science, will briefly introduce how consumer behavior has changed during the pandemic and what the implications are for marketing strategies in the short term and the longer term.

Learn how marketing/retailing has been affected and what he sees as structural changes. How should firms orient themselves going forward? Which trends are going to dominate, which media will have higher importance and which media's importance will wane? He will cover implications for customer focus, digital marketing and marketing budgets.

Smith alumni are invited to join a virtual open forum facilitated by Victor Mullins, PhD, diversity officer and associate dean of undergraduate programs at Maryland Smith.
