Join the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business on Monday, May 22, 2017, as we celebrate the accomplishments of more than 1,000 business graduates at two commencement ceremonies. The ceremonies will take place at the Xfinity Center in College Park, Md. Tickets are not required for the Smith School ceremonies but please note that tickets are required for the campus-wide ceremony on Sunday, May 21. Smith Entrepreneurs Win Technology Prize

Two part-time MBA students from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business won second place in a science and technology entrepreneurship competition with PhareTech, a startup that delivers faster network speeds by consolidating data streams into single fiber-optic cables. “You’re reducing the number of fibers in a system,” said Smith School student Andrew King, PhareTech CEO. “That’s a reduction in labor, installation, maintenance and energy costs.”
