Students embarked on a pioneering trek to international organizations in Washington D.C., organized by the Center for Global Business. Engaging with industry leaders at the IFC, IDB, OECD, and World Bank, they explored diverse career paths and global development initiatives, fostering connections and insights for future global endeavors.

The Center for Global Business (CGB) is abuzz with international engagement this spring, as it welcomes 32 exchange students from prestigious universities worldwide while facilitating the departure of 26 Smith undergraduates to esteemed global business schools. Boasting over 20 exchange partnerships, the center offers enriching academic and cultural experiences, fostering a global network of collaboration and learning.

Daniel Alegbeleye, a determined law school graduate, defies the odds by prioritizing education over Division 1 football offers. Now pursuing an MBA at the University of Maryland, he intertwines his business acumen with a passion for social justice, inspired by his parents' sacrifices. A market development manager at National Nail, he embraces leadership, teamwork, and community engagement.

Maryland Smith students gained invaluable international business insights in Winter 2024 through faculty-led study abroad programs. Spanning Japan, South Korea, UAE, France, Vietnam, South Korea, South Africa, and Brazil, these immersive experiences enhanced students' global mindset and understanding of diverse markets and cultures.

Critical global challenges are under scrutiny till 2028: biodiversity loss, industrial policy, rapid transit, e-waste value, and digital twins. At the Distinguished Speakers in International Business Series event, hosted by the Center for Global Business, Erik Peterson of Kearney's Global Business Policy Council shared insights.

International Education Week is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education “to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences.”
