The Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business awarded two PhD candidates with $4,000 each to support their research. CIBER Director Kislaya Prasad presented Yang Pan and Lanfei Shi, both PhD candidates in information systems, with the awards at a ceremony on May 11, 2016.

Smith School of Business is pleased to announce that Mark Wellman, clinical professor of management and organization, is the recipient of the inaugural CIBER Award for Teaching Innovation in Global Learning. BALTIMORE (May 12, 2016) – The Maryland Department of Commerce and University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business have launched the Maryland Global Consulting Program to provide global consulting expertise to small Maryland companies.

Participants at the Robert H. Smith School of Business's 2016 Emerging Markets Forum agreed that India's rapid growth offered opportunities for both local and U.S. businesses, but they disagreed about whether the Indian government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is moving quickly enough to cut red tape.  

Mark Wellman, clinical professor and director of the College Park Scholars Business, Society & Economy (BSE) program, was presented with the “The Face of Their Field” Award at the Sixth Annual Faculty/Staff Appreciation ceremony organized by students and staff in the College Park Scholars community held on Friday, April 29, 2016. Wellman, has been the director of the Business, Society and the Economy (BSE) program for the past nine years.
