Bobvita Salters Jones
Strategic Director of Human Resources & Payroll

Bobvita Salters is responsible for the creation and maintenance of a vibrant organizational culture that enhances the mission of the Robert H. Smith School of Business while providing employees with a stimulating, supportive and fun work environment. She ensures that all HR activities and services are carried out and are consistent with the overall strategic mission and plan of the school. Salters provides a wide range of consultative support services for the school as it pertains to the employment/recruitment process, J1, H1-B and permanent residency procedures, employee relations and classification and compensation. She also serves as equity officer.

Karen Phillips
Associate Director

Karen Phillips is responsible for the design, development and delivery of Smith-specific training programs in support of the school's mission and strategic objectives. She creates and processes payroll for all students awarded a graduate assistantship (GA) position. She also facilitates orientation for new staff and graduate students as well as manages the department's internet and intranet sites. In addition, she works with the director of human resources & payroll and senior leadership to develop a thriving Smith community through outreach activities, employee engagement programs, and department-specific training. Phillips believes that professional development is the journey that anyone who wants to excel must take.

Payroll/HR Services Manager

Stephanie Pineda creates and processes payroll for faculty, staff, and students (hourly) employees. She is the contact person for payroll and benefits questions and/or concerns. She prepares adjunct contracts, processes teaching and non-teaching overloads, LWOP, sabbaticals, summer research, and J-1 visa requests for visiting scholars. Pineda reviews and approves payroll appointments, pay, and time entry adjustments. She is dedicated to addressing concerns and providing valuable support to the Smith School community.
