Q: What should I bring to the Terp Marketplace?

A: Your products, marketing materials, a sign with your name/logo, and any additional items to decorate your table.

Q: Can I sell my product even if it's not perfect?

A: Absolutely, it's a great way to test the market and get feedback.

Q: What does the Dingman Center provide for vendors?

A: We'll give you a table, chair, and tablecloth.

Who can sell at Terp Marketplace?

Current UMD students are welcome to participate as vendors.

Q: How can vendors accept payments?

A: You are responsible for handling your own transactions. Most vendors bring QR codes for digital payments (Venmo, Zelle, CashApp, Square) or cash with change.

Q: Do I have to follow my table layout sketch exactly?

A: No, but clear effort and preparation must be shown. Tables lacking basic setup, signage, or planned engagement/incentive materials may face dismissal on event day.

Q: Can I share a table with another student or business?

A: Yes, but both businesses/students must be listed on the application.

Q: When do I need to arrive to set up?

A: Vendors are usually expected to arrive 30–45 minutes before the event begins to check in and arrange their tables.

Q: What if I don't have a physical product to sell?

A: You can still participate as an "Inquirer" to gather feedback, conduct user testing, or market a service/app—just be sure to bring an engaging table hook (e.g., raffles, games, snacks) to attract foot traffic.

Q: I have a class during the setup/event window. Can I still participate?

A: All tables must be fully set up by 12:00 PM (though a brief buffer is provided). If you have a class during this time, we recommend asking your professor for permission to participate in the Marketplace or having a team member present. If neither option is feasible, we encourage you to apply to vend at Terp Marketplace the following semester.

Q: Are there food or beverages for sale?

A: This may depend on the vendors. Some may sell edible products.

Q: Who can attend the Terp Marketplace?

A:  The event is open to UMD students, faculty, and staff.
