The ambassador of Nigeria will visit the Smith School to discuss educational exchanges with universities in Nigeria on topics including artificial intelligence, agriculture and health care. The visit will also include discussions on opportunities to connect with companies that sponsor international students and a fireside chat with students.

This workshop brings together academics, thought leaders and stakeholders to discuss how analytics can support nonprofit organizations, government entities and social impact organizations in improving their reach and impact through innovative use of data and models. The overarching theme is analytics for doing good.

For the tenth year, Women Inspire will showcase Maryland Smith’s fearless alumnae leaders excelling in business. This annual event will celebrate female empowerment that inspires attendees and challenges them to realize and reach their full potential.

Join Maryland Smith professor Vijaya Venkataramani, associate professor of management & organization, as she discusses her research about creativity in the workplace. This interactive discussion will include a short presentation followed by time for participants to ask questions.

How do you define being an ally, partner, accomplice or co-conspirator? Join the Smith community to learn more about what it means to show up as an ally.

Smith alumni panelists will share examples of effective and ineffective forms of allyship at work. Moderated by Jeanette Snider, Ph.D., associate director of undergraduate programs, this open discussion will provide steps on how to navigate moments where you can show up in the workplace for your team and colleagues.

In order to help our faculty and staff stay mentally well and respond to the mental health needs of our students, the Counseling Center will be offering workshops exclusively for UMD faculty and staff throughout the fall semester.

This workshop will help faculty and staff navigate strategies for engaging in self-care and coping with stress and other common difficulties we are experiencing as faculty and staff.

Don your chef aprons, grab your whisks and let’s get baking! Join Smith MBA student Tina Elhindi for a virtual live macaron making class! In this fun class, you will learn the fine art to making macarons by Elhindi, a classically French-trained pastry chef who received her pastry diploma from Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, France. Come be transported to the patisseries of Paris.
