Meet the Center for Global Business to learn about all the ways Smith students can go abroad. We offer short-term programs, semester programs and global internship programs.

The Robert H. Smith School of Business continues to prioritize the success and empowerment of students of Black and Latino descent. This empowerment starts on the day these students walk on campus. For this reason, Smith hosts its annual For The Stars Festival during the first week of classes in celebration of these students. This night full of food, music, and fun is a great opportunity for new Smith students to network with peers, learn more about Smith clubs and organizations, and have a good time.

For the past eight weeks, the Spring 2021 Impact Consulting Fellowship cohort has been working hard on their consulting deliverables for the various impact-driven organizations. Their projects have ranged anywhere from local/state government-oriented work, financial modeling, coordinating and running crowdfunding campaigns, and much more. ICF Huddle is a time to come together and celebrate all their hard and diligent work! 

TechFest is an annual forum hosted by the Department of Decision, Operations, and Information Technologies. Join us as we bring industry leaders who are at the forefront of addressing cybersecurity and privacy issues using modern tools. Explore what it means for your career.

These new and innovative virtual case competitions allow Maryland Smith undergraduate majors and minors to solve a real global business issue with a focus on business resilience. During these 4-5 day IB agility labs, students will benefit from exposure to an international company, work on teams with business students around the world, and gain hands-on case experience to build their resumes. Each IB agility lab will focus on one functional area of business and will include an optional virtual cultural activity.

For the tenth year, Women Inspire will showcase Maryland Smith’s fearless alumnae leaders excelling in business. This annual event will celebrate female empowerment that inspires attendees and challenges them to realize and reach their full potential.

Join us to learn more about the Center for Social Value Creation's Impact Consulting Fellowship (ICF)! This event is a wonderful opportunity to hear the experiences of past ICF participants, as well as ask any questions you may have regarding the program. ICF aims to connect cross-functional student teams (composed of Undergraduate, Masters, and MBA students) with impact-driven companies and organizations to provide pro-bono consulting services.

Dingman Fridays advising sessions will be held every Friday of the semester from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. virtually on Zoom. These sessions are open to all UMD students, staff and alumni. Venture mentors, subject matter experts, guest advisors and Dingman staff are available to listen to your idea, offer feedback and provide actionable next steps.
