Smith School Alumni Discuss Global Competencies for the 21st Century Workplace

On February 11, 2019, the Center for Global Business (CGB) hosted three Smith School alumni to discuss Global Competencies for the 21st Century Workplace as part of its Distinguished Speakers Series (DSS) in International Business. The conversation was moderated by CGB’s executive director, Rebecca Bellinger, who addressed questions to the alumni on the importance of a global mindset in today’s business environment.

Smith Students Explored the World in Winter 2019

Undergraduate students at the Robert H. Smith School of Business have completed another successful cycle of the faculty-led short-term study abroad programs. This past winter semester, the Center for Global Business offered four programs that explored different topics in social entrepreneurship and innovation, accounting, and quality management across the globe.

Smith School Hosts 36 Visiting Students from Australian University

From January 7-18, 2019, the Center for Global Business at the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business hosted the 19th annual global immersion study tour for 36 graduate students from longtime Maryland Smith partner, RMIT University. The annual program includes two weeks of site visits to various industry partners around the region, seminars conducted by Smith School faculty, excursions to national and local cultural sites, and an introduction to higher education in the U.S.

Maryland Smith to Expand Global Outreach with $1.2 Million Grant

Maryland Smith Launches Dual Degree Graduate Program

Business School Partners with India’s SPJIMR Aug. 14, 2018 (College Park, Md.) — A new partnership with India’s S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research will give the University of Maryland its first dual degree graduate program with an institution outside the Maryland system. Participants will earn a Master of Quantitative Finance from Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business and a Global Management Program Certificate from SPJIMR, a leading business school in Mumbai.

Smith School Hosts MBA Students from Beijing

The Robert H. Smith School of Business hosted 37 first-year MBA students from Guanghua School of Management, Peking University (“PKU”) in Beijing, for a weeklong program that began July 16, 2018. The program included lectures from business and public policy faculty focused on topics related to a series of related site visits, e-commerce and a case competition.

Center for Global Business Hosts Fintech Discussion

The Center for Global Business (CGB) at the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business and the U.S. Department of Commerce welcomed the Chief Fintech Officer of Singapore’s Monetary Authority, Sopnendu Mohanty on April 23, 2018 to discuss trending issues in fintech and blockchain technologies while focusing on the U.S. approach to fintech opportunities in the Indo-Pacific region.
