Stacks on Smith Senior Pancake Night
As the 2013 calendar year comes to an end, the Smith School faculty and staff are celebrating our 2014 Senior Class with the Inaugural Senior Pancake Night: Stacks on Smith. On Wednesday, December 18, the senior class will be treated to a pancake dinner, served by their favorite faculty. Outfitted in aprons and chef hats, Dean Triantis, Dean Mullins, Professor Basu, Professor Harms and many others will serve up pancakes and wish our students well as they head into final exams and the home stretch of their undergraduate studies.
Scholarship Day: 12/11
ONE DAY. ONE CHALLENGE. For 24 hours on Dec. 11, the University of Maryland is calling on all Terps to come together to support student scholarships. On our first-ever Scholarship Day, we’re holding the biggest one-day giving event in Maryland’s history.

Testudo is Hiding in Van Munching Hall! As the fall semester comes to a close, we invite the Smith School community to join us in a “Where’s Testudo?” contest that will take place in Van Munching Hall.
Smith School's Holiday Video Shoot - Join Us Dec 5
Dear Smith Community: Please join us on Thursday, Dec. 5 at 5 p.m. in Van Munching Hall's Pownall Grand Atrium for our annual holiday video shoot. We will be shooting some scenes inside and then will join on the front steps for our "Happy Holidays!" cheer. Wear festive attire, Maryland Red, or just come as you are.
Last Word
The last several months have been a time of growth at the Smith School. As you’ve read in this issue of Smith Business, we launched our first online MBA degree program, increased our diversity efforts through the LEAD Institute and took our Cupid’s Cup Business Competition national. I have also stepped into my role as dean of the Smith School. It is an exciting new challenge for me.
Andy Enfield, MBA ‘94
It was the Cinderella story of March Madness season when Andy Enfield, MBA ’94, coached Florida Gulf Coast University’s men’s basketball team to the NCAA Sweet 16. Enfield has always loved basketball, from his undergraduate days as an All-American for Johns Hopkins University through his stints as an NBA assistant coach with the Milwaukee Bucks (1994-1996) and Boston Celtics (1996-1998).

’50s David Reznick ’59 received the Housing Association of Nonprofit Developers Lifetime Achievement Award. ’60s Donald Linton ’60 was named a master entrepreneur. ’70s Howard Bomstein ’70 was appointed executive marketing director of the Washington Times. Jon Colin ’78 was appointed interim chief executive officer at EQM Technologies & Energy, Inc.
