Happy holidays from the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business! This year's holiday video has the theme "Smith Holiday Idol." Students, faculty and staff auditioned in front of a panel of judges to get a starring role. Watch to find out who wins! Thanks to all of our Smith Terps who participated in the making of this video. Dean Triantis Speaks at Forte Foundation Event
Alex Triantis, dean of the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, was a featured panelist on the Forté Foundation’s Allies and Advocates: Game-Changers Who are Moving the Needle on Gender Parity on Nov. 19, 2015, at the New York Life offices in New York City. The panel, part of the Women Lead Speaker Series provided insight from academia, policy and industry focused on gender parity, inclusion and obstacles in the workplace.

Smith Masters Students Celebrate Diwali
The Smith Master Student Association (SMSA) hosted a festive Diwali celebration in Van Munching Hall on the evening of November 12, 2015. With more than 200 Specialty Masters students in attendance, the event featured choreographed dancers, and traditional Indian food and dress.

Approximately 150 current students at the Smith School are active duty military and veterans, and there are thousands of Terps who have served.
CLIC to Sponsor Business Athletes Panel at the Smith Business Summit
The Center for Leadership, Innovation, and Change (CLIC) at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business is sponsoring a panel on the “Business Athletes” leadership model at the Smith School Business Summit on Nov. 13, 2015, in Baltimore. The panel will feature Senior Associate Dean Joyce Russell and leaders from a variety of professions – from marketing to sports to finance – to foster a discussion on the qualities that great athletes share with great business leaders.

Students Organize Walk Against Domestic Violence
On Friday, Nov. 6, 2015, the Smith Undergraduate Student Association (SUSA) will be capping off its Community Service Week with a walk against Domestic Violence around Van Munching Hall. The walk, which will start at 6 p.m. and end at 8 p.m., focuses on eliminating silent witnesses and bystanders and encourages participants to be heard, using walker participation and involvement to show the difference taking a stand can make.
