For the tenth year, Women Inspire will showcase Maryland Smith’s fearless alumnae leaders excelling in business. This annual event will celebrate female empowerment that inspires attendees and challenges them to realize and reach their full potential.

The 2021 Women Inspire Honorees will be the following Maryland Smith alumnae:

Presented by the Artist Partner Programs at The Clarice, the BlackLight Summit is a year-long dance initiative that investigates how time, people, possibility and hope come together to examine legacy, citizenship and scholarship. The summit asks, through the practice of being socially responsible within the arts: How do we create traditions? How do we transform them into enduring legacies? 

Discussion of the different types of discrimination faced by black individuals in the workplace. With an emphasis on hair discrimination in the workplace (tattoos and piercings as well).

Faculty, students and guest choirs come together for a concert celebrating Black History Month curated by the School of Music’s IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access) Committee and in partnership with the Coalition for African Americans in the Performing Arts (CAAPA).

Smith PhD is partnering with the Big Ten Alliance business schools to increase exposure to business doctoral programs nationwide, aiming to improve representation and diversity amongst business school faculty. Join us on Thursday, February 25, 2021, at 6:30 p.m. ET for a 3-part informational webinar where the path to a PhD and the impact of pursuing a career in academia will be discussed. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from current doctoral students and faculty members from underrepresented groups about their academic career experiences.
