Smith School of Business ranks No. 21 in the nation in the latest edition of U.S. News & World Report’s “America’s Best Colleges,” published yesterday. The Smith School placed 11th among public universities and again ranked highly in a number of business specialty categories.

On July 28, 2012, 41 executives from EMBA Cohort 11 celebrated the end of their 19-month journey at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. More than 350 family members, friends and members of the Smith School community joined together at the university’s Samuel Riggs Alumni Center for a recognition ceremony to honor their accomplishments.

Smith Hosts Spring EMBA Networking Event
The University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business welcomed executive MBA(EMBA) alumni, current students, faculty, and administrators to a special networking event on April 17, 2012, at The Mayflower in Washington, D.C. Smith EMBA Program Launches in Beijing
Classes kicked off April 12 in Beijing for the Smith School’s new cohort of executive MBA students in China. The Smith School partners with China’s University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) to offer the joint 18-month degree program. The partnership began in 2003 and relaunches this year after a four-year hiatus. The program focuses on executive coaching, entrepreneurship and global perspectives. Greg Hanifee, assistant dean of executive programs at the Smith School, greeted the new class in an opening ceremony during the program’s first course session.
Smith EMBA Program Gains Ground As Top Program Across Major Rankings
Though it’s been in existence less than a decade, the Smith School’s executive MBA program has quickly gained ground as a top-ranked program in the U.S. With the recent U.S. News & World ranking placing the program at No. 23 in the nation, the Smith EMBA now has secured a top-25 recognition by all the major outlets that rank executive programs – the only program in the Washington region with that achievement.
