Blanco, Loock and Veihmeyer Receive Staff Excellence Awards
Three staff members at the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business were honored at the school’s faculty and staff assembly on May 11 as the recipients of the 2012 Staff Excellence Awards. The Staff Excellence Awards were established in 2008 to recognize the critical role that non-academic staff members play in the Smith School's success. In creating the awards, the Smith School strives to single out and personally recognize staff members for their superior performance and significant contributions each year.
13th Annual Dean’s Undergraduate Senior Awards Dinner
The Smith community came together on May 2, 2013, to celebrate the achievements of top undergraduate students at the 13th annual Dean’s Undergraduate Senior Awards Dinner. More than 70 students, faculty and staff enjoyed a dinner at Van Munching Hall. The much-anticipated annual celebration was the cap on the academic year and a final celebration before course finals and commencement.

Smith School Hosts Baseball Industry Network Networking Night
Join the Office of Undergraduate Studies at the Robert H. Smith School of Business as it hosts the second annual Baseball Industry Network Networking Night on April 26, 2012. The event will take place in Frank Auditorium (1524) in Van Munching Hall at 6 p.m. Tyrone Brooks ’96, Director of Player Personnel for the Pittsburgh Pirates, joins Smith again this year as the host of the networking night and panel discussion for members of the Baseball Industry Network as well as students from the University of Maryland.

Seeking Superstar Seniors at the University of Maryland for MBA Direct Admit Program
The University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business is offering a unique opportunity to go directly into its full-time MBA program in fall 2012. The MBA Direct Admit Program will admit five highly qualified 2012 graduates from the University of Maryland at College Park to the Smith School’s full-time MBA program, enrolling in fall 2012.
Smith Undergrad Team Places Second in The Marketing Summit
A team of undergraduate students from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business competed with teams from around the country at the 22nd Annual Marketing Summit presented by Wake Forest University in February 2012, ultimately placing second and winning a cash prize of $3,000. Prannoy Nambiar is a Smith School senior and one part of the four-person team that competed this year. He says case competitions complement classroom learning.
